Plastic bottle re-use. Helpful Hint.

Plastic bottle re-use.
Press down and use it as a "Dust Pan-scoop" to get into corners,
Squeeze it to use it as a funnel, or
Or, use the other end (top) as an ordinary funnel

Very handy (and cheap). I use one for filling small containers with Pigeon or Chicken seed

Leaf picker-upper, Silly but works slick.

FOUR years ago, I bought this at a thrift store for $2. It looked so silly I never even tried it. BUT a few days ago I had a gigantic pile of leaves to stuff in bags and just for kicks I tried it. I WAS AMAZED at how good it worked and so very simple and easy... and exceedingly fast.
...It's called a "Garden Grabber", by Grabber International, 15 Lesmill Rd #8, Don Mills Onterio Canada. Model M3B-2T3
.
BTW it works good on mulched leaves too...
OR
use it to feed a Chipper/Shredder... super fast.

Keep a yardstick in your wallet / The art of folding IKEA tapes.

Keep a yardstick in your wallet / The art of folding IKEA tapes.

The folds should be a bit shorter than a credit card so the folds do not extend beyond the credit card.

The folds should be staggered so each fold is not directly over the previous fold, that way it will fold a bit flatter.

The Ideal Charcoal container, a Milk Bucket

This makes a great indestructible container for .....
Charcoal. Seal up the 4 spouts on the cover with Silicone sealer.

I got mine at a flea market. The best highly fashionable charcoal container you will ever find. Indestructible and lasts forever. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=OLD-SURGE-MILKER-BUCKET-SEAMED-COW-GOAT-MILKING-MACHINE-MILK-NOT-SAFE-USE-

Never search for a huge twisty tie again.

You probably already have a gigantic supply of over sized Twisty Ties around the house.
Any solid-core wire or anything similar. Cut desired length (a foot?), use as is (Stronger), or separate the 3 wires (still quite strong).   Instead of twisting the ends, if you make a slight hook at the end you can use one indefinitely (see pic).  And of course, if you form a hook, you can hang it up.

Strong enough to hang up Garden hose too.

There is nothing cooler than Bert's hat.

It's cool in so many ways ~:<)

I wear many hats. I have solar powered fan hats, Umbrella hats, mesh hats, etc, but none is as cool as this hat.  No wonder they used these Pith hats/Helmet (Safari hats) in the jungle. I found 2 of these hats, in thrift shops... a few bucks.
Surprisingly, I get lots of very nice comments on it.
Ideal for those 100 degree days with high humidity...the air goes thru the hat as if not wearing a hat at all.  Google "Pith Helmet"..... $6 to $40.

Automatic Continuous ICE WATER for your pet.

I just made this, for my overheated Chickens (make larger for cats or dogs).  They had a tough day yesterday (112 heat index).
If you can find a wide-mouth pet waterer you can use that. Otherwise you can easily make one in just minutes (see last photo).

1) FILL the container with ice cubes, NO WATER. 2) Assemble. 3) Cover the container with insulation (Old sock shown).. or wrap with towels and secure. Keep it out of sun.
IT SHOULD last for several hours or much longer with more insulation. .

. . IF they don't drink it fast enough, it will eventually all get warm. Or you can drill a very tiny hole or notch in the bowl just below water level so there will be a continuous flow of cold water.
(LATER - UPDATE) - The ice in this very small one lasted 4-1/2 hours...stayed cool another 1/2 hour. A one gallon sized container (last picture) should last 6-8 hours or more...??

MAKE YOUR OWN
(Photo below) Use any wide-mouth sealable container of any size (fairly rigid plastic).  Drill 1/4" hole on side of container 1" from the top. 1" will be the ice water depth, or 2", or 1/2".  Drill location of hole depending on the pet size.
Fill with ice cubes (NO water, water melts the ice cubes faster). Invert container into a large pan. The ice will melt and discharge ice water for HOURS for your pet. Wrap the container in insulation (or a towel, or ??) to make the ice last longer.  Depending on your pet, you may have to secure the container so they won't knock it over... a bungee cord around the container AND pan should do the job.

IF they don't drink it fast enough, it will eventually all get warm. Or you can cut a small notch or hole in the pan 1/8" below the water level so there will be a continuous flow of cold water in. . . . and the surplus water out at the same rate as the ice melts.
