060212 Wienie Roast at 8 degrees

(Feb 12, 2006) Yes, we had a wienie roast in the back yard and we were very comfortable. It was 8 degrees and there was a full moon with clear shadows of trees on the snow. Nice warm fire, hardly any sounds. Diesel sat out there with us. And we roasted pineapple chunks too. Did you know that when hot chocolate freezes it's not hot chocolate anymore?

  2. This is something you will never see me do in my lifetime! I don't know why, but I haven't been getting alerts for your posts, only for the "reviews." I see I've missed quite a bit...

  3. i so love those moments when you shouldnt feel the comfort that you do but you do and love it, there are times when I have curled up next to my horse lying in his stall and snuggled,,,,he loved it because he trusted me,,,,and then lying out at midnight freezing cold, a full moon and just lying there in the snow staring at the stars,,,,,nothing beats it.,...well maybe if I hadnt been alone.,,hahahee

  4. jgigi - yes, kinda, except pinapples don't catch on fire... then you pour chocolate over them.
    Also, try this (recipe #2)

Carolenablue - ? I hope we are friends here on Multiply? I'll check

Equine - Hey, I know just what you mean. Animals are people too. Sometimes there's a better connection, understanding and bonding than there is with humans.

  6. jgigi - are you sure you were looking at the right web site? This one is about food.

  7. Stop that Bert.. I'm telling you I am actually blushing...YES, it was the link you gave me and Yes it was about cooking. lol Geez you caused me to go back again to make sure.

  8. jgigi - Ha ha ha.... you were hoping for more?

  9. Stop that Bert.. I really want to know how you roast pineapple.. Maybe I don't wanna know because you did say you pour chocolate over it and I'm not gonna get caught being guilty when I was so innocent.......again. :) Now tell your loyal, loving audience the truth before I describe the steps for banana roasting. OHHH Bama, please... I think I need help.

  10. That actually looks fun!!! I'll take mine with relish please.

  11. Jgigi - Actually you just take pineapple chunks or rings and heat them over the fire, then on a plate and pour chocolate over them... nummy, I like. You have a better way to roast bananas?

Swaggie - It is fun... strangely satisfying and peaceful. We do it occasionally. I hope you don't mind if the relish is in little frozen chunks.

  12. I can handle it... the company would be WELL worth it.

  13. I'd rather roast weenies on the beach.

    (Did that help any Jgig?)

  14. Not really Bama.. I thought we were banned from the beach, but I have forgotten why???

    ReplyDelete
  15. Maybe it was because you were supposed to bring the weenies and forgot, so you were running up and down the beach grabbing every weenie you saw. Glad I was just supposed to bring the beer...AND I remembered to bring a lot of it, thank you very much! Of course, if I hadn't brought the beer, you probably would not have been running up and down the beach grabbing other people's weenies. Quid pro quo...

  16. Oh my gosh Bama !!!! No, not the beer... The Old Lady From Pasadena had a fifth of Jack Daniels in her picnic basket and I joined her for awhile.. Black label of course.

  17. Aw, heck, no wonder you were having so much fun. Was the Strawberry Hill Granny on the Harley there, too? I still have nightmares about her running me down with her bike screaming, "Whattya think, when ya want somethin' to drink? Be sure to think of Strawberry Hill!" They never should have cancelled her commercial. They knew she was riding with the Hell's Grannies. (shudder)

  18. Oh girl, I think now she is the leader of the pack.. Lookin sharp and sexy at 80, and wearing hip high black boots.. I almost swear, she was the one who ran off and left Bert that fatal night, but I didn't see a whip. Maybe we should consider looking for the fountain of youth since we have hit the big thirty..

  19. Fatal night? Or Fateful night? I don't recall anybody leaving the beach in a body bag, but then, I left early....right after Strawberry Hill Granny and Where's The Beef Granny hooked up. Some things just are not meant for public display...but I wasn't going to be the one to tell them to get a room.

I think I found a fountain of youth, but that discussion is better reserved for a private discussion since this is a G rated site (or at least it is supposed to be.) Actually,I think PG would be a better discription....

  20. Neither.. I meant Faithful night...Well don't tell Bert she was late going to meet Lizzie, the new Granny on the block..Bert pretends he knows more than he does, and hasn't a clue about Strawberry Hill. Hope he never meets up with Slam Sam in drag. lol Or do I?????

  21. Who me? Strawberry hill? Slam Sam? Lizzie? Haven't a clue.

  22. Only us crazy northerners do this... I love it!! And addition to the weenies & pineapple, it spiked hot cocoa ( I use a shot of peppermint schnaaps) YUM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. We do kats???? I better get with the program. But, no peppermint scnaaps for me...I might spike mine with some Baileys Irish Creame my son gave me for Christmas.

  24. holy moly! I see what ya mean bertwell....This is really where the action is!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh yeah loverly, sometimes a bit to much action. lol I try to outdo Bama..She tries to outdo me....But we both wanna keep one step ahead of Bert!!!! It makes him kind of nervous sometimes. :) But that is part of the plan to confuse him so he won't question us so much.

  26. Who'da thunk it? Looks like really cosy and fun event though. Can we join you next time? Pretty please?
