We cheated and used the snowmobile numerous trips to haul supplies from the pole barn on the ¼ mile road down the hill to the cabin. Usually we snowshoe and pull sleds. The snowmobile path freezes very quickly and provides a hard surface to walk on, instead of the deep snow.
20 second video- road to cabin (Point)
On the East edge of the farm the cabin is on the creek on a 2 acre peninsula which has a "moat" all the way around except for the road into the cabin, almost like a castle drawbridge. It is very very isolated. Our view is of the creek which is normally about 12 feet wide but in the Spring it floods to about 300’ wide.
This was my project for the weekend, finish wiring.
Oh I'm jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful and (dare I say it) looks like a setting for a Stephen King movie!
Looks like you've already had your claws hooked into the wiring there, Bert :D
OMG all that snow while I am sitting here in summer, its funny but its always a shock to the system to see the reality of such opposites going on. Gosh the wiring looks a bit lethal.
ReplyDeleteOh hey Iri! We're neighbours!
ReplyDelete-15 degrees!!!! BRRRRRRR! Looks pretty though.
ReplyDeleteDayum...and I complain when it gets down below 32 here. Today's high is supposed to be 72 and the low is was 55. Did I mention my daffodils are blooming? Yep, Spring is here in the heart of Dixie!
ReplyDeleteLooks very secluded. That is mighty cold my friend!!
ReplyDeleteYou two are pretty tough to brave that weather to get to your cozy retreat. I'm afraid I would wait till it got above 32 to go outside. The cold is making it's way all the way down here in So. Fla. The next couple of days are going to be 60's for highs, and 40's for lows. Everyone is bracing for the cold front. Right now at 9:30 am it is 80 and humid.
ReplyDeleteI love the music in the background!
