  1. It sure is pretty...but I'm ready for spring now...LOL! It's April and enough it enough already! I measured 5 inches on our deck however the news said we got around 7 inches as well. We ARE hoping it'll stick around just until tonight so we can make one more snowman for the season! :)

  2. Bookie - Ah yes, Red Wing... Just down the stream a bit from me. Been there many times, relatives from there. Yes this sure is a pretty batch of snow, but not so pretty when it starts to melt. Messy.

  3. Yuppers...Red Wing! :) Definitely have to agree...it'll be VERY messy once it melts...LOL! Add to that the rain we're supposed to get this week and well...I think messy will be an understatement at that point! Ya ready for the mud?!? LOL!

  4. My back yard finally melted dried up a bit so it wasn't a mud pit, then it snowed 5" then it melted a bit and dried up a bit, then it snowed 6" then it melted a bit and dried up a bit, then it snowed 7" this time so the yard STILL isn't dry.. and is now covered with 7" snow. I suppose then it will rain and rain so it will never dry ? Where's global warming when you need it?

  6. Global warming must be kinda like Santa...If you have been a bad boy, it may not come to your place....I'm not sure why...Maybe because I never gave it any thought...I didn't realize there were totally white pigeon's and have never seen one, but the one in your tree looks to be beautiful to see...

  7. jgigi - when they release white Doves at olympics, weddings, and celebrations, those are actually white pigeons, not Doves, because the pigeons will fly back home, the doves just fly away forever. Doves and pigeons look quite a bit alike, mostly the size difference. Mine is a Ringneck Dove, domestic only, and they have a longer skinnier beak than pigeons. They are both beautiful birds.
The pigeons look beautiful when they fly circles around the house and neighborhood, especially the white ones, they look so majestic. They fly very fast, up to 60 mph. Fun to watch them fly. .

  8. I didn't know pigeons were released at weddings, but it makes sense that they fly home...They are certainly fast birds too which is interesting and gives you reason to think they were or are a sensible, good way to send messages back and forth...I certainly have learned much here and have a great time....You are a sweet friend...

  10. I can't see the pigeon, but the graphics on this comp are crap :(

Beautiful pic, though, and I still think you live in Narnia.

  11. Debo - Hint, the white pigeon is on the branch just to the right, closest to the dark pigeon and a bit higher than the dark pigeon.

  12. Ah-ha, I see it now! Thought you were being silly--white bird in a snowy tree--ya, right. Is that your pigeon, or a vagrant you are feeding? What does spot think of the relatives outside?

  13. Cydni - Those are my dear sweet pigeons, they are kind of friendly (will sit on my finger, sortof) but fly all around and are gone for hours sometimes but spend most of the day on the deck or with the Chickens. The dark one is "Lizard" and the white one is "2.5". There is more to the story, another blog someday.

Snowflake, I don't think so, cause when I look in the mirror, the snowflake is not there. Once I caught a snowball on my forehead though.

  16. Beautiful! It almost makes me miss the snow! hahahaha just kidding! *brushes sand off leg*

  17. Yes I did ;) And at first I thought that the thing on the railing was also a bird x]

  18. Lisa, Ah but snow on your leg simply melts, sand can get to be a problem (Justifing snow).

MythicalU - Sometimes it takes me a while to locate 2.5 (the White pigeon). The "thing" on the railing IS a bird, made out an old garden tool to look like a bird. It's very heavy.

  19. Yes I see the white pigeon. Blends in really well with the snow. Makes me miss home. :)

  20. Freya - In the Summer I can easily see the White pigeon (2.5) but not the black pigeon (Lizard) and in Winter, visa versa. I don't mind the snow but I'm sure ready for Summer now. It's only in the 30's today.

  21. MythicalU - You're right. Hardly anyone is ever completely wrong... depends on your viewpoint.
