This was impressive, Bert was flying with the Eagles.

IMG_0566b Eagle Portrait Left
Recently we were in Wabasha MN on the Mississippi River where there is a large concentration of Bald Eagles. It was at the "Eagle Center" where this one was posing for photographs outside, a rare occurrence (I was about 3 feet away)
.

Below is a THREE DIMENSIONAL Picture, if you look cross-eyed at it. A third Eagle will appear in the middle, tilt head just very slightly until images line up and Whalla --- a 3D Eagle (the other two will vanish). Close to the screen is better.  Kinda neat eh? (These are frames from a video... I should have had more separation and it would have been more dramatic)080502 Wabasha Eagle portrait from vid 3D 175

Got some great videos too, but didn't have time to upload them.

  1. I tilted my head and got 4 eagles...

Two on the bottom and two on the top.

Then I flicked my head around a bit and things got a bit psychedelic for a while there where a kaleidoscope effect appeared.

That is one hella gorgeous eagle. Absolutely magnificent.

  2. Debo - As usual, Debo does everything to excess... Tilt your head only a very little bit.

  11. Bareheart - I hope nobody got injured with the 3D thing ??

Carolenablue - Yes I hope nobody's eyes got stuck.

aslowread - This isn't the best example of the 3D thing but... it's an Eagle.

being - It was a funny sensation to be in the presence of such a majestic animal... I was humbled.

Freya - yes we were in the right place at the right minute, it's very rare this would happen.

arkangel - What is it a picture of? My eyes are still crossed. (It's very cute).

recon - You feel inferior when standing so close to an animal like that.. (my eyes hurt too).
