Have FUN now, only 4 years to go and it's all over... the end...

Scientific fact - On the average, every 200,000 years the earth’s magnetic field reverses, the last reversal was 775,000 years ago.
(Repost from last year)
The Mayans predicted that the end of the world will happen 4 years from now on Dec 21, 2012 due to a polar shift.
NASA states that there will be a massive polar shift around December 2012 and the results of that shift are unknown. The North Pole could shift to the Equator within days, weeks or hours.  Tighten your seat belts.

  2. OK, so does this mean I don't have to waste precious time Christmas shopping in 4 years?

  3. Planet - Don't worry, It doesn't apply to you and me.

Donna - Yes, that's the GOOD news part.

  4. So I guess this means I've gotta cram all the remaining years I thought I had left into 4 measly years. Gotta go - I have lots to do!

  5. Loverly - Sure, I'll hold whatever you want. Don't worry everything will be fine.

  6. Wooo! Is it weird that I want it to come quickly so I know what's going to happen...?
They do say curiosity killed the cat.. LOL!

  7. MythicalU - Will you be dissapointed if nothing happens? I think I don't want to know that bad... I would be happy if it waited about 100 years.

  8. Rankyca - I don't think either hurry or hide will help. It's already 575,000 years late, maybe it will wait another 100 years of so?

  9. Oh thank goodness , if the pole shifts to the equator is it going to make Minn and Ia warm and toasty and send all this white nasty stuff south . Florida must be bored no challenges

  10. I won't be disappointed if nothing happens, but at the same time, I *really* want to know, haha! Let's see... This gives me 4 years to get rich, get married, settle down, do the gazillion things I have left to do on my 'before I die' list and lots of present giving to do... I'd better buckle down?

  11. TS - Very much like a Y2K thing but 100% worse. Actually, the Earth has survived numerous magnetic pole reversals over the past hundreds of millions of years so I suspect we'll survive this too. ?? (I hope).

  12. Hectic, maybe thats the reason for global warming...

  13. Hmmm, could be causing some global warming ?

Actually... I don't think I'll do anything special for the rest of my life preparing for it...I think it will be dissapointingly boring?

  14. Just for perspective: some folks in certain Christian sects are still recovering from "The great disappointment" of 1844, when the world was supposed to end. And didn't, or not just yet. Some of these prophesies are given extra airtime by radio programs that run a lot of commercials for freeze-dried meals. Then again, the wolf did eventually come...

  15. Lenvan - Is there a day that goes by and someone doesn't predict the end of the world? I'm getting kind of used to it by now.

  17. Iriani - 12/21/2012 may or may not be important... depends on if it's the end of the earth or if we just tip upside-down (rightside up to you).
.....Christmas shopping? Well somehow I didn't receive my xmas present in the mail from you either? Maybe it's just cause it's so far away and it's still coming? I sent you a solid gold statue of a Kiwi, did you get it yet?

  18. nope but I am sure I will soon! I sent you a golden egg, has it arrived?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Iriani - Not yet, Which hemisphere did you send it to? Thanks, that will be great. When it gets here I'll have an even dozen.... finally. Well, I'll be patient. I hope it arrives before 12/21/2012.
My little Dove is being very affectionate... she's sitting on my hand as I type.

  20. Perhaps we should have sent each other things with wings. Flightless Kiwis and Golden Eggs don't fly very well.

Oh bother perhaps the dove wanted something too??

  21. Iri - She's easy to please... some sunflower seeds would be great. She loves them, that's her treat. Mostly she just wants attention... she's such a pest and I love it.
