Fat cat no longer hostile toward the hand that feeds him.
Tuna has no will power... therefore.... food rationing, however, Tuna becomes very grouchy and ornery when hungry (always), and attacks our ankles until we acquiesce.
BUT
there IS a solution. . . . a new feeder -
NOW, Tuna get's angry at the feeder instead.... just one bit of food at a time, a very slow process. There's a hopper in the center and he has to work for his food.
If you prefer, ..... a 10 second video.
Very clever! I have a cat (Spike) who won't eat dry food in his bowl, instead he pulls pieces out of his bowl with his paws, which fall onto the counter, and eats them from there, very much like Tuna is doing in the vid. Cats are weird.
ReplyDeleterecon - Yes, I've seen that behavior before... probably a habit from eons ago when they'd grab some food from the kill then step back to avoid getting mobbed by the other cats that were feeding too?
ReplyDelete(Our previous cat was "Spike").
LOL it really is very clever! They should make something like that for humans! (I would buy it because I am like Tuna and just a bit fluffy)
ReplyDeleteI need one of those for a human!
ReplyDeleteI like it but with more than one cat I don't think it would work I would have cat fur flying

ienvan -
? I think they sell a timer-lock for refrigerators ?
But what about the pantry?
ReplyDeleteI should send this link to my sister - she also has a somewhat chubby cat.

ReplyDeletelove2 - Hmmm, Ok, put the fridge in the pantry and then lock the pantry instead... ?
iriani - I had never seen these food dish feeders before, but it works well for our cat, his weight has stabilized, even lost just a tiny bit. Best of all he is not hostile toward us anymore (good kitty).
I LOL'd at the video.
ReplyDeleteAs an owner of cats, I found it highly amusing.
