060625 Daycare outing at the mall

At our local Mall,  about 10 sets of Canadian Geese parents and about 60 babies (3 weeks old?) slowly  crossed from one end of the mall to the other (2 blocks) to a small pond, confidently stopping traffic where necessary (honk honk).  The cars stopped and waited patiently for the long line of geese to waddle past.  The geese  obeyed all the laws.

  1. Is that the Mall of America? No wonder it's such a big crew!

  2. Swaggie - No, just a nearby mall... Last time I was at the MOA though I took some pictures and someday will get around to doing a blog on MOA... pretty facinating and amazing place. On unpleasant Winter days sometimes we go there just to walk, and explore. It's a fun place. Things tend to be a bit pricey there though.

Jillsbiz - They were so cute... such good parents.. Rather assertive too, will defy cars.

  3. Carolenablue - Yes, they were such good obedient children... human kids should behave that well.

  5. That is truly a cute picture.

I remember when I was very young, dad was driving my sister and I to school and there were ducks crossing the road and some ass drove straight through them. Killed a baby and damaged the mother duck to the point where dad had to put her down.

What the ass in the killer car didn't know was that dad was a cop, who called it into the station and the guy was picked up just around the corner. He was charged for reckless endangerment and disobeying road signs (there was a duck crossing sign in the extreme near vicinity).

That was the first time my sister and I realised dad was a right softy when it came to animals.

  6. Debo - Hey good for you dad. We experienced the same thing, a guy didn't even attempt to avoid a bunch of gees and babies crossing, fortunately he didn't hit any but the wind knocked them over. How can people be that thoughless?

  7. Some people are so insecure in themselves that the only way they can feel better about themselves is when they're lording it over someone or something else.

Because these insecure people are usually cowards, they pick on things that are very much smaller than them or are not able to defend themselves.

In a lot of instances, the human race ought to be ashamed of itself.

  8. Debo - I've always felt that way about those insecure people (Always guys) who seem to think that a big noisy 4x4 truck, or a noisy Harley and matching clothes, will make them a tough guy. A false sense of Macho. They think it makes up for their own lack of manliness.... the little whimps.
