120603 Grand Old Day

Some indisputable evidence that many people are having grand fun... 2 miles (each way) of fun at St Paul MN "Grand Old Day" on Grand Avenue.   This picture gives you an idea of the Mood.

These are a tiny portion of the people out having fun.  The city changed all the traffic lights to Green (go Go GO) and no red lights (Stop) ... well, this just wasn't a red light district I guess.
Many live... Very live lively bands and street musicians, magicians, etc, hundreds of vendor booths selling a great assortment of things including delicious food and drink... and mingling with 250,000 people in serious party mood. There's something for everyone here.

AND of course with that much liquid being consumed, there were hundreds of these little green houses.

Our potholes are bigger than your potholes (Minnesota).

A nearby resident heard the noise about noon, and went out to investigate. The authorities got there in time to prevent any mishaps.

We've had 3 times more rain than usual for the month of May.

There's a culvert under the road that had developed a leak and the water sucked all the soil down stream causing a cavity which then collapsed.
My daughter lives just a mile away and took the top photo, I took the bottom photo

CHICKEN HELPER

This is my Chicken Helper, in charge of the Skill saw. Truffles,.. a 3 yr old Polish Buff Lace.  She prefers human company. She is constantly underfoot.. I have to keep lifting her aside and be careful when I walk. She thinks she's a human.  Loves to ride in the car and sing.  ----->   Truffles sings Opera    Her voice is raspy and squawky (and loud).

I was laying down working on something and she hops on top of me... I stand up and she tries to stay on me... fluttering while I'm standing up and she is then on my shoulder.

. . .
One of my Pigeons, Velcro... can also often be found climbing on my bench and tools... in my way.

Picture Perfect - Holy Macro - a Deadly Delight

All my Macro's were a dead give-a-way, so I had to crop the macro.  The clue is in the title.

Scroll down to see entire macro photo.
(Taken with my old trusty pocket cam, Canon A720, not my new Nikon).

These little guys were Very tiny ants, less than 1/8", but they were hungry.
To illuminate the scene, I used (bad choice) a LED light bar.  I guess the freeloaders didn't like the treat because they didn't come back (Terro).

Picture Perfect - Favourites - OPERA (not).

One of my favorite things is when she sings in the car..
Except when she sings OPERA....... .and SOOooooo loud and enthusiastically.

This is Truffles, a 3 year old Polish Buff Lace, singing "La Traviata", by Verdi (Her favorite).

At Stop signs, people stare and ask... "Why does she sing off-key so badly?
".... but then sometimes people applaud and cry out "Bravo... Bravo...., Encore".

The alarm went off, I searched the house... then the alarm again...

It went off several times (very loud) intermittently with no regular interval.  Difficult to find the source because I never knew when it would go off again.  I spent half an hour trying to find it... then.....(scroll down).

Simon was stomping on the "Test" button of the Carbon Monoxide detector I put on the floor to bring to the pole barn on the next trip. I think he enjoyed irritating me?

Tuna uses remote Telekinesis to provide sustenance.

Yes, it works, but it only works 3 times per day... and then in insufficient quantities. Tuna has mastered the art of Telekinesis.... sometimes standing patiently focused for long periods before he is successful. I sure hope he keeps his mind focused only on food.
(Short Video at bottom to verify his success)

Actually, this device dispenses 1/4 cup increments up to 2 full cups... 1 or 2 or 3 times per day... can set it for times desired. This feeder is the result of Tuna's propensity to overindulge . . . therefore becomes a fat cat.

Short Video --  Tuna is never far away when it's feeding time.
